This is totally a hot topic right now apparently, however there's something i don't understand:
why is there such a big deal about these people? why are they illegal? aren't there ways to become a LEGAL immigrant? i assume so, since everyone's always so keen on making the distinction about ILLEGAL immigration...
immigration's an interesting topic, within it are several issues, including everything from economic to civil liberties. and almost everything in between.
so, it seems to me, the question is, how much of a right do other people have to come here and visit our awesome-ness taht is america?
There's the security issue: Were we to open our borders to anyone, it would be simple for a would be 'terrorist' to come in and blow some shit up(but wouldn't our requirements for citizenry and transport o good into the country remain the same?)
there's the economy issue: illegal immigrants are an integral part of the work force, willing to perform jobs of harder work, for less pay, for more hours than an average american is willing to. i've heard it said often "they do jobs americans are no longer willing to do"
there's the civil libertyy issue, which is a two parter: 1. Do other nation's citizens have any rights here? should we allow them to travel within our great nation, even come to live here? or should they be forced to stay where they are? 2. What sort of protection do the current US citizenry deserve of their own work places?
...i'm positive there're more issues, but i'm drawing a blank right now, tell me what you think!

If they're here illegally, send their asses out, plain and simple. All the work they're doing cheats everyone else out of jobs, and no taxes go towards maintaining common systems. They can work for less cause they don't pay taxes. Obviously that's not all of it, but it's big. If they want jobs here, follow the damn law, don't make *ME* pay for *YOUR* services, and to send *YOUR* kids to school. Fuck that.
