Ok, I'm not sure that this would go under "Religion" as a topic, but what the hell. What is everyone's thoughts as to how the human race came to be what it is. Everything is a product of raw evolution and chance, or is it? Who's to say that life wasn't shaped by an outside force, perhaps divine, perhaps extraterrestrial. Post your opinion and we'll have a philosophical/religious/moral debate!
Happy Postulating,

i, myself, am a straight atheist, this includes my views on creation. however, i am willing to concede that it MAY be POSSIBLE that we were put here as an experiment by aliens, however, i don't see what possible change this would make to the way we live. MY problem with creation is that people seem to look to it as an excuse to say "see? see? something had to do this, there must be some all powerful blah blah, and he gave us a purpose, see here in the old testament?" or the new testament, or the quran, or where ever you want to look. my point is, why do people need a higher power to give them a purpose for life? i've always thought, myself being who i am, and believing what i do, that, even if we are a huge galactic accident, that doesn't mean we have no purpose. we have a duty to the human race, to our off spring, to make this world a better place to live, and to continue the species. we, by living, by continuing to survive, have given ourselves a purpose. each person's purpose changes according to what they're good at, but basically it is to come to a better understanding of the world around us, through whichever way they see best fit. philosophers, psychologist, physicists, religious fanatics, even carpenters serve to hold a position in society. *shrugs* i realize this sounds really vague, but, that's how i see it, we, as a race, exist, there's no changing that, and each person's purpose is to decide what the hell they plan to do with this life.
