I have a proposition for all us Hell's Infantry-(wo)men:
As the other team has managed to prove on a regular basis their unwillingness to play real paintball, I would like to suggest a reorganization of the team in order to better create an environment of fun and safe for all.
Command structure can remain the same, so I guess it's not so much of a reorganization of the team, but more a reorganization of the games we're playing.
instead of playing simple capture the flag missions, we diversify into other sorts of games, such as scenario play, an example I will outline for you now.
We have all met up at the field(screw this whole gigantic great war thing, we get who we can get, though we never did get an email list *kick-self*) and split into 4 team(fewer if required) the game has a 30-45 minute time limit.
each team is assigned a 'base' or objective they must hold. No team is ever completely eliminated(it is the game runner's discresion as to whether or not to allow respawns, though if you don't, might I suggest a 15-20 minute time limit to prevent long wait periods) at the end of the time limit the team holding the most objectives wins.
in order to control an objective:
each team will be given a number of bandanas(or something) of their color equalling the total number of objectives(one for each), each objective will have a flag pole, in order to hold the objective, you must have YOUR color bandana on that objective's pole. the team with the most poles(and most likely fewest casualties, this will be key), will win the round.
this sounded like fun in my head as I was mowing the lawn. any other suggestions for possible scenarios(try to keep them simple enough as to not require a huge amount of reffage)
just one final note, the thing with the game stoppage, all the stoppages we experienced on saturday didn't need to happen, the ref could've pulled the complainer, asked him/her what's up, settled it, while the battle was raging, if a chrono was needed, take the guy needing chronoing to the chrono, but don't stop the game unless there's a real emergency, I had the impression that that's what the whistles were for.
