So, I spent some time yesterday chatting it up with the captain, discussing preliminary ideas for this year's game. it's been overwhelmingly decided that we don't want the other team there this time around, and we've discussed pushing the game to the end of the summer to enable us to hold more smaller games leading up to it.
anyway, obviously these are just preliminaries, but we discussed drastic changes in the way the 'war' will work, perhaps dividing into teams amongst ourselves, earning points through the summer to culminating in the ultimate game come august or something. while we'd come up with some sweet prizes for the winning team(prizes would obviously require us to ask for a 1-2 dollar donation. at least this time around.) the prize could consist of something like a trophy to be held by the team that won it 'til the next year's war, or a banner, something like that, a gigantic banner every member of the winning team can sign when they win?(not unlike the stanley cup?)
anyway, possible scenarios with points possibilities suggestions are appreciated, we'd like to see some variation this year around(obviously capture the flag will be playe,d but there are other things to do too.)
so, that said, if anyone still reads this stuff, make some noise! let's get some discussion going! it's the new year bitches!

I'm not so much of a fan of a trophy or the like, but it may be fun to give out medals and awards to the winning team. And maybe a few people from the losing team. Of course, I don't know what this would cost yet, but I'm throwing out ideas. With a flag or trophy, you can't exactly give it to everyone at once. With the exception of very few, it's going to be with only one person at a time, and I don't know how well that will work.

In order to clarify I meant a sort of token that could be signed with the winning team's names for each year, it'd probably stay with whoever(probably Trevor, he's the leader after all), this way, despite team changes, there'll be a record of the winners throughout the 'history' of the wargames.
I do like hte idea of medals for specific things though, decided thorughout the course of the summer. MVP for each team perhaps, best sniper, things like that.

I like both ideas- have a giant banner that the winning team from each year signs, and have medals (or patches?) to give out as well. with a one or two dollar donation like you were saying, it wouldn't be a big deal.

actually yes, it'll be august 11th(saturday).
don't have a date or time set, and the specific rules are yet to be discussed, however, we do have a template for what we want to have happen, hopefuly this week Trevor and I will be able to work out something permanent(ish) and I'll be able to send out an official email.
just watch the boards and your email, and wait for phonecalls, as soon as we have something solid, rest assured I'll get it out asap.
